Statement of Faith
Scriptures
We believe that “all Scripture is divinely inspired by God,” by which godly men “were moved by the Holy Spirit” to write the Scriptures. We believe that the entire Bible is without error in its message (Mark 12:26, 36; 13:11; Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39; Acts 1:16; 17:2–3; 18:28; 26:22–23; 28:23; Rom. 15:4; 1 Cor. 2:13; 10:11; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21).
Godhead
We believe that the Godhead forever exists in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—and that these three are one God and equal in essence and character (Matt. 28:18–19; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3–4; 2 Cor. 13:14; Heb. 1:1–3; Rev. 1:4–6).
Angels
We believe that God made the angels who are spirit beings. “Lucifer, the morning star”— the most elevated in position—sinned through pride, consequently to be known as Satan and followed by a third of the angels that became fallen angels known as demons who terrorized the earth (Isa. 14:12–17; Ezek. 28:11–19; 1 Tim. 3:6; 2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6).
The Human Race
We believe that man was initially made in the image of God and after he fell through disobedience, and as an outcome of his sin, lost his relationship with God and spiritual death entered the world, followed by physical death. (Gen. 1:26; 2:17; 6:5; Pss. 14:1–3; 51:5; Jer. 17:9; John 3:6; 5:40; 6:35; Rom. 3:10–19; 8:6–7; Eph. 2:1–3; 1 Tim. 5:6; 1 John 3:8).
Salvation Through Christ Alone
We believe that salvation is through Christ alone. Jesus is the only One who can save people, salvation is found in no one else. No one else and in no other name given to people in the world is able to save us. (John 5:24; 17:23; Acts 4:12; Acts 13:39; Rom. 5:1; 1 Cor. 3:21–23; Eph. 1:3; Col. 2:10; 1 John 4:17; 5:11–12).
Sanctification
We believe that the blessing of positional sanctification is when our Father in heaven sees us as blameless in Christ. Through spiritual maturity, believers become like Christ through the process of progressive sanctification. Ultimate sanctification takes place at the return of Jesus and believers receive their resurrected bodies. (John 17:17; 2 Cor. 3:18; 7:1; Eph. 4:24; 5:25–27; 1 Thess. 5:23; Heb. 10:10, 14; 12:10).
Eternal Assurance
We believe that He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns (Luke 10:20; 22:32; 2 Cor. 5:1, 6–8; 2 Tim. 1:12; Heb. 10:22; 1 John 5:13).
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity who took up His dwelling on the earth and upon the arrival of Pentecost abides in each believer and by His sanctification joins all to Christ in one body, and that He, as the Indwelling One is the administrator of all spiritual gifts (John 14:16–17; 16:7–15; 1 Cor. 6:19; 1 Cor 12:1; Eph. 2:22; 2 Thess. 2:7; Acts 4:8, 31; Rom. 8:23; 1 Cor. 13:8).
The Church
We believe that all who are joined to the risen Son of God are individuals from the congregation which is the body of Christ, which started at Pentecost. Its individuals are established as such paying little mind to enrollment or non-membership in the coordinated houses of worship on earth. We believe that by the same Spirit all who profess in this age are sanctified through the Holy Spirit to become one body in Christ, whether Jews or Gentiles, having become the church of Christ (Matt. 16:16–18; Acts 2:42–47; Rom. 12:5; 1 Cor. 12:12–27; Eph. 1:20–23; 4:3–10; Col. 3:14–15).
Sacraments or Ordinances
We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the solitary ceremonies and mandates of the congregation and that they are a scriptural methods for declaration for the congregation in this age (Matt. 28:19; Luke 22:19–20; Acts 10:47–48; 16:32–33; 18:7–8; 1 Cor. 11:26).
The Christian Journey
We believe that we are called to walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit and to live after the Spirit so that we will not gratify the desires of the fallen nature. Our fallen nature will not be eradicated in this life time. The Holy Spirit will continually keep us in relation to Christ, so that we may appear blameless before our Lord on the day of judgment (Rom. 6:11–13; 8:2, 4, 12–13; Gal. 5:16–23; Eph. 4:22–24; Col. 2:22; Col. 2:1–10; 1 Pet. 1:14–16; 1 John 1:4–7; 3:5–9).
The Great Commission
We believe in the message of our Lord Jesus Christ to those whom He has saved that they are sent forward by Him into the world even as He was sent forward of His Father into the world and sent us to make disciples (Matt. 28:18–19; Mark 16:15; John 17:18; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:18–20; 1 Pet. 1:17; 2:11).
Our Great Hope
We believe that according to the Bible our reunion will be gathering to Himself into heaven those who are alive at his second coming (John 14:1–3; 1 Cor. 15:51–52; Phil. 3:20; 1 Thess. 4:13–18; Titus 2:11–14).
Second Coming of Christ
We believe that the worst time in human history will be known as the Great Tribulation, which will be put to an end by the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will be coming on the clouds bringing His rewards for those who are born again in Christ. (Deut. 30:1–10; Isa. 11:9; Ezek. 37:21–28; Matt. 24:15–25:46; Acts 15:16–17; Rom. 8:19–23; 11:25–27; 1 Tim. 4:1–3; 2 Tim. 3:1–5; Rev. 20:1–3).
The Eternal State
We believe that at death the spirits of the individuals who have placed their trust in our Lord Jesus Christ for salvation pass promptly into His presence and remain in continuous bliss until the resurrection of the glorified body when Christ comes for His own. However, the unbelievers after death are aware of judgment and hopelessness until the last judgment at the great white throne, when soul and body will be rejoined and cast into the lake of fire. These damned souls will remain in eternal torment away from the presence of our Lord (Luke 16:19–26; 23:42; 2 Cor. 5:8; Phil. 1:23; 2 Thess. 1:7–9; Jude 6–7; Rev. 20:11–15).
