Missions: Restoring Child-Victims of Human Sex Trafficking in Cambodia

The Least of These was Independently published by Thomas Luke on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) on November 5, 2020. According to my research, The Least of These is the only academic book written from a biblical perspective on how to restore child victims of human sex trafficking in Cambodia. The Least of These has city, county, state, national and international applications in addition to Cambodia.

The Orphans of Siem Reap, Cambodia, made a lasting impression upon me when I met them during my visit to Angkor Wat, Cambodian in 2003. I have not discovered anything more disturbing than knowing about Khmer mothers who sell their little girls’ virginity to Western pedophiles. These little girls, some as young as 5 years of age, are being infected with HIV by depraved evil men for their own sexual gratification. Often, this results in the murder of these young girls after the HIV infection turns into full-blown AIDS. Because of the poverty in Cambodia, these girls cannot afford the appropriate medical treatment once they have contracted AIDS; nor can they afford the opiate pain medication necessary to dull their pain as they die a slow and agonizing death. I wrote a capstone research paper for a Master of Arts in Theological Studies – Trinity Evangelical Divinity School – Class of 2020. From a biblical perspective, I researched how to restore these traumatized child victims once they have been rescued from pedophile-brothels in Cambodia. After graduation, I turned my capstone research into a book called, ‘The Least of These.’

About The Author

Dr. Thomas Luke is an American transformational theology scholar, theologian, anti-child sex trafficking activist, certified spiritual integration counselor, certified crisis response and trauma counselor, distinguished research professor, award-winning distinguished Christian academic author, ordained Christian crisis response chaplain, talk show host, TV producer, and founding father of transformational theology.

Transformational Theology is a profound counseling system his mentors taught him; spiritual integration counseling, also known as “soul surgery,” is a central tenet of transformational theology that facilitates recovery from and integration of traumatic experiences.

Luke has dedicated his career to serving survivors affected by trauma as an ordained Christian crisis response chaplain. As an advocate for the abolition of human sex trafficking, he is ardently committed to defending the rights of women and children.[1]

Rev. Dr. Thomas Luke has 20 years of combined research on Cambodia’s child sex trafficking epidemic. His research includes the spiritual approach to integrating survivors of sexual exploitation diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder; he wrote about this approach in his Ph.D. dissertation textbook, Transformational Theology, which earned him seven distinguished Christian textbook awards.

Luke was granted three additional awards for making The President’s Honor Roll for a 4.0 GPA and graduated valedictorian of his 2023 class with a summa cum laude distinction at Chaplains College School of Graduate Studies.[2] Wikitia listed Dr. Thomas Luke as their Top 30 influential Christian Scholars in 2023 and World’s Top 30 Education Professionals for 2023.
